Heschi Rotmensch is a trained physician and a self-taught artist. He has been painting restlessly for over a decade, driven by his strong passion to explore this medium. His works shift from the abstract to the figurative, while drawing inspiration from diverse artistic styles.
In his works, he examines the relationship between colors, lines and shapes. He begins each new piece with a single brush stroke, continuing intuitively, without knowing where the painting is going to end. Within the wide range of his works, one can find highly expressive pieces, alongside geometrical abstracts with sharp outlines: almost three-dimensional paintings, consisting of thick layers of color, alongside translucent, bright and gentle pieces.
Rotmensch works in series. Each series showcases a different approach, whether it’s a particular color-palette or a new technique. In some of his works he incorporates unconventional materials, such as milk, while also experimenting with various techniques, such as: collage, overlapping layers of color, reduction, engravings and more. His paintings are full of vitality, expression and color, embodying his fresh, experimental approach and his strong desire to express himself in the medium of painting.
